Life is like two sides of a coin - the positive and the negative, the bright side and the dark side. Country or village life has its own charms and problems. So town or city life has its peculiar pleasures and problems. Some of the things we cherish in village but not in cities and some of the things we find in cities but missing in village. The combination of having and not having goes side by side.
Most of the men of our village go out into the fields early in the morning. There they plough the land or sow or reap crops. They take rest in the afternoon after taking lunch. Then they again start their work and remain busy till evening.
Most of the women of our village start their work in the morning. They like to do their household work early. They look after their children, cook food and wash their clothes. They sew their clothes and work with their husbands. They also clean their houses. Some women even work with men in the fields or look after the animals.
In the evening, villagers like to play games or to take complete rest. Most of the men gather under huge trees or in open fields to play games like "kabaddi", "gulli danda" and football, etc. They laugh and talk and enjoy their time. Women like to meet and talk in groups.
Children in most of our village either work with their parents or attend schools or just waste their time. In fact, our villagers are mostly very poor. They cannot easily educate their children. Then there is not enough number of schools in village. The education given at village schools is not of a good quality.
Most of our villagers are quite religious. They are God-fearing. They like to say their prayers. They like truth and honesty. We find small shops and markets in our village. There things of daily use like cloth, oil and soap etc. are sold.
Villagers, celebrate their festivals like "Eid", with devotion They wear clothes of bright colors. Women wear their best ornaments. In a small village, all the people meet and greet one another. The entire village seems to be a big family.
Town or city life is very different than that of village. The people in a town have different kinds of activities. They work in different professions. For example, they work in government offices, firms, factories, big shops, markets and institutions etc. There are schools and colleges of different kinds where thousands of boys and girls study.
Women in towns generally stay in their homes when their husbands go to their places of work but quite, a few women also work in offices, banks, and educational institutions, etc. with men. Rich women keep servants for household work. In the evening, students can easily play games in schools and colleges. Some people go to clubs to play games like tennis and cards. Many people go to cinema houses.
We have a number of facilities in towns which we do not have in village. In towns, we have fine roads, buses, cars and taxis, etc. We can travel from one place to another easily. We have good and big shops and markets in towns from where we can buy nearly everything: There are hospitals and good doctors in towns. There are schools and colleges where students can have different kinds of education. Almost all our towns have electricity, but most of our villages are without it.
The people in towns are cleverer than those in village. They are not generally as simple truthful and honest as villagers are. Most of them are not religious like them.
But they are far better educated than them. Country life as well as city life is enjoyable. Those who live in city should sometimes visit village. Villagers also should try to live in city. This will bring healthy combinations.
